Ding Darling NWR

Well yesterday on the way to Miami from Fort Meyers I stopped at Ding Darling NWR. I had been wanting to go there for a long time each time I have come to Florida, and finally got to. I think it was the wrong time to go, as there wasn’t very much bird activity, but it was still a pretty nice place to go. Did get one surprise there and that was a heron eating a snake of some kind. I’ve seen pictures of that before, but had never witnessed it before yesterday. That made the whole trip there worth it. There were a good number of roseate spoonbills perched in trees as well. Ah well, overall it was a wonderful experience.
